The 2010 KWIKFIRE Tour culminated this past weekend at 150 'N Out Billiards and Darts in Mooresville, NC—at the same site where the 2010 season began. With early wins which secured her the hot seat, Kelly eventually defeated Gerda Hofstatter 9-5 to win the tournament, and captured 2010 Tour Champion and third title of the year.
After upsetting Belinda Calhoun and Lisa Davids early on Sunday, Katie Cowan lost hill-hill to Gerda, earning her a stellar 3rd place finish, and 3rd consecutive Highest APA Finisher. With her strong showing throughout the year, Katie finished 4th in the overall standings, behind three top professionals, which means she captures the highest ranking and coveted invitation into all of the 2011 WPBA Classic Tour events.
A smaller field than usual, with 16 players, the Top 6 on Sunday battled for $2000.00 in prize fund. Earning a 4th place finish was Lisa Davids, while Kristen Malone shared a notable 5th/6th finish with Belinda, and ended the season with her highest finish to date and was awarded 2nd Highest APA Finisher.
Holly Sholes and Katie Cowan came into the event with hopes of securing the WPBA invitation, and Holly looked promising early on with a win over Val Finnie. But, then she lost a tough match to Gerda 9-5, and continued to struggle on the one-loss side after losing to a steady, Lisa Cossette. This early departure put Holly's overall standings in jeopardy and left the door open for other players to overtake her. Lisa Davids saw the opportunity and with her 4th place finish, surpassed Holly by 20 points, and nabbed 5th place in the overall standings.

The Second Chance tournament on Sunday drew 11 entrants, and Lisa Cossette came away with the win, after a hill-hill match that put Marianne Merrill in 2nd place.
